Water UK’s new chief executive is Christine McGourty, who will join the water and sewerage industry’s trade body on 16th December 2019.

Under Final Determinations announced by Ofwat today, average water and waste water bills will come down by 5% in real terms over the next five years – a decrease in the average bill across England and Wales of £20 by 2020.

The average household water and sewerage bill in England and Wales for 2017-18 will be £395 – an increase of £6 (2%) compared with the previous year. The average bills for each company can be found on the Discover Water website, which brings together key information for customers about water companies in England and Wales.

Following the publication of the Environment Bill in October 2019, Water UK made recommendations for amendment and additions. This provided the basis for our submission to the EFRA Select Committee Inquiry on 1 November 2019.
